Catch All Tray created by recycling old record album - Asia 1982
My [modern] take on the record bowl. I found a way to incorporate not just the great shiny vinyl, but the album cover too. A fun way to get all nostalgic and still keep your keys and doodads organized.
Released on the Geffen label in 1982, this album had Asia's biggest hit "Heat of the Moment." Features an awesome illustration of a water dragon by Roger Dean who also did album cover work for Yes and Uriah Heep. This tray is made from the actual album and is one of my inside-out-trays. The vinyl album is on the outside and the cover on the inside.
Use it to hold your keys, earrings, ipod, paperclips, business cards, love notes. Looks great on the bar for holding cocktail napkins. Try it on your desk, nightstand or wherever. Great in dorm rooms to hold coupons for subway and pizza runs.
Black vinyl leather-like tabs accent the inside and outside corners. Held together and further accented with domed nickel rivets. Size is 7.25 square and 2.5 inches high at the side arches. In the case of handmade goods made from recycled items there can be some imperfections (some of us call it *character*).
